July 10, 1982. Warsaw. A wedding film of Urszula and Andrzej Kamiński. The day began with a ceremony at the Civil Registry Office in the Old Town of Warsaw. The couple gets married and accepts congratulations from the family and loved ones who line up. It is customary for the bride and groom to collect coins scattered outside the Registry Office. The couple’s church wedding took place on the same day in the church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help at ul. Alfreda Nobla in Warsaw. This time the bride is dressed in a wedding dress. During the civil ceremony, she was wearing an elegant dress. The priest, and with him the other participants of the ceremony, make the gesture of the cross. The bride and groom say their marriage vows into the microphone. They leave the church. The guests take photos of them. Outside, for the second time that day, they accept congratulations from loved ones and collect scattered coins. (MB) |
