description |
Antoni Matuszny, who came from the Beskid village of Laliki, was interested in photography since he was a child. As he recalls, he wanted to save the life of his family and the countryside in the 1970s from oblivion. At the age of thirteen, he bought the first camera, and when he was 24 – the camera of the Soviet Quarz 5. A film made during Christmas of 1986 in Cięcina. Antoni is sitting on a sofa and looking at children’s books with his daughters Anna and Paulina; a festively dressed Christmas tree is visible in the background. Antoni’s father-in-law, Franciszek Wojciuch, is rocking Anna in a swing suspended in the doorframe. Elżbieta, Antoni’s wife, is sitting in a rocking chair and is knitting. Paulina is sitting at the table with her aunt Jadwiga, Elżbieta’s sister. The girls are sitting together at the table, Paulina is drawing in her notebook. (KN, AT)
