description

The author of the film is Jarosław Krajewski (born in 1952 in Poznań). As a teenager, he received his first camera as a gift from his parents. Since then, he has filmed important events and family life: weddings, holiday trips to the Powidz area, as well as his daughters, Paula and Zuzanna, growing up. Jarosław was interested in journalism. In his youth, he belonged to the Club of Youth Journalists (KDM), later he worked, among others, in the office and the company newspaper in a furniture factory and as a tour guide in Europe. He currently lives in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Part 1
The film was made in Warsaw, probably in 1971 or 1972. A capture of a mock-up of the Royal Castle in Warsaw and the rebuilt Castle covered with scaffolding. A capture of the Barbican, Sigismund’s Column on Zamkowy square and the façade of St. Anne’s Church in Krakowskie Przedmieście.

Part 2
An account of a holiday trip near Powidz (in 1974), an important place for the Krajewski family, where the family spent an annual, monthly holiday for many years. Shots from the campsite: tents, chairs and outdoor kitchens. Bernard and Józef (Albin’s brothers) fool around at the camera. Shots from the pier of Jarosław’s cousin, Lizbet, who lives in Sweden on a daily basis. Men fish at the shore of the lake. The family has a meal together at the campsite. At the table there is Józef with his wife (Inger), Mieczek (Albin’s brother-in-law) and Gerard (son of Albin’s sister). A woman sunbathes on the pier. Men with two children swim on the lake in a raft and fool around at the camera. A party at the campsite. A shot of a bottle of vodka standing on the ground and a table set with snacks. Everyone talks, laughs and smokes cigarettes.
