Jastrzębscy Family Archive

The author of the film is Andrzej Jastrzębski – a jazz tuba player, photography and old car enthusiast – who immortalized family memories using a Zenit camera and an 8 mm camera. 

Part 1

The film was recorded during holidays in Dębki in 1982. The family spends time at the campsite and on the beach, children play in the sand and swim in the sea. Andrzej’s wife, Ewa, cuts their daughters’ hair on a chair placed between the tents.

Part 2

The film was recorded during holidays in Dębki in 1985. Andrzej’s daughter, Marianna, buys fresh fish from the fishermen on the beach. Together with their mother, they buy fresh fish straight from the fishing nets.

Part 3

Andrzej and Ewa are picking hazel in the forest in front of their friends’ house, the Benesz family, in Anin near Warsaw.

Part 4 

Shots from the procession passage of the Corpus Christi. The girls, among them the daughters of Andrzej and Ewa, Diana and Marianna, are sprinkling flowers, dressed in First Communion dresses.
