The author of the film is Marcin Kęszycki, who as a teenager documented family and social life with a Newa 2 camera. Film shot in 1969 in Cracow during the wedding of Marcin’s cousin, Helena Kęszycka, and Stanisław Drukur. The wedding is given to the young couple by Archbishop Karol Wojtyła – a friend of Cardinal Andrzej Daskur, the groom’s brother. After the ceremony, the newlyweds receive congratulations and good wishes from their guests and then drive by car to the wedding hall. Guests of Helena and Stanisław included: Marcin Kęszycki’s parents, Wojciech and Maria; Maria Pruszyńska, known as Aunt Marytka, wife of the tragically deceased writer Ksawery Pruszyński; Maria and Ksawery’s children, Aleksander Pruszyński and Maria Boni-Pruszyńska; Krystyna Kęszycka, mother of the bride; Zygmunt Kęszycki, brother of the bride; Józefa Hennelowa, columnist for Tygodnik Powszechny; and Oskar Meysztowicz.
