Hassa Family Archive

The author of the film is Zbigniew Hassa. Since the age of 14, he had worked as an electrician in Warsaw Trams (then MZK). When his daughters, Joanna and Katarzyna, were born, he decided to start filming events from the life of the family. 

A film made during one of Kasia Hassa’s trips to the sanctuary in Rabka. She was accompanied by her mother, Irena. Open-air shots, summer. A parking lot, a trailer and a highlander cottage. On the sidewalk, there is Irena with Kasia, who collects stones and throws them in front of her. The panorama of the mountains. Irena and Kasia, holding hands, cross the street. We can see the signposts “Nowy Sącz”, “Limanowa”. The panorama of the area: mountains, blocks of flats, Polish flags on the roof of the building. Kasia walks with her mother, picks up a pebble from the ground and shows it to the camera. Irena smiles. Scenes from the amusement park. Kasia drives a small car, spins in a capsule with the inscription “Apollo”, sits in a helicopter, which can be moved using a lever. Irena watches Kasia spinning on a carousel with planes.
