description

The author of the film is Zbigniew Hassa. Since the age of 14, he had worked as an electrician in Warsaw Trams (then MZK). When his daughters, Joanna and Katarzyna, were born, he decided to start filming events from the life of the family.

The film was made during a summer camp in Gwoźnica Górna, in which Joanna and Katarzyna participated, and their mother, Irena Hassa, was an educator. Shots from the outdoor pool: Irena teaches Kasia to swim, bathing children. The camp group on a mountain trip. The panorama of the area. We can see haystacks in the meadow. The group stops at a large metal cross. A boat trip. A very short shot. Open-air shots. Next to the bus, we can see newlyweds in wedding outfits, surrounded by their guests. The group sings to the newlyweds. The groom kisses the bride. The group goes towards the camera, singing. One of the women “plays” on a saucepan like on a guitar. A shot of Zbigniew Hassa standing outside. This is the game of “gate”. The camp group blocked the road and did not let anyone pass by until they got some kind of gift. This time these were local newlyweds. Shots from a large room where the camp party takes place. We can see the gathered group of young people and educators. Probably, some kind of spectacle takes place. Irena drinks from a large bottle. A short shot from a mountain trip. A boat trip. Various shots of Kasia, standing on the side, sitting on Irena’s lap, then on a bench under a large lifebuoy. A shot of Zbigniew, sitting on a bench on the ship. Another close-up of Kasia. Landscape shots from the moving coach. Mountain trip, stop at a wooden shelter. A woman with a plastic bag in her hand walks through the field. Nearby, we can see parked coaches and cars. Irena and Kasia drink orangeade from bottles, standing by a wooden bench in a shelter. An account of the camp game of weddings. In the hall, in front of the audience, people “get married”. One of the “grooms” is Zbigniew, and his “chosen one” is the head of the camp.
