description

Nepal, 4000 meters above sea level, ascent of Manaslu eight-thousander. A documentary material from a high-altitude expedition that took place in 2001. Its goal was to reach the summit of Manaslu eight-thousander located in Nepal. The leader of the expedition to the Mountain of the Spirit, as this peak is called, was Krzysztof Tarasiewicz. Unfortunately, the summit was not reached due to heavy snowfall. The film was shot in mountain scenery at an altitude of over 4000 meters. The film consists of typical genre scenes from high-altitude expeditions. We can see the participants resting (tents pitched in the snow at an altitude of about 4000 meters above sea level; four climbers: one person defecates, another rests in a tent, another one admires the views) and climbing. We can also see a majestic panorama of high mountains, shot above the clouds. The viewer’s attention is directed to an “Ask the Prime Minister” poster with Jerzy Buzek, then the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, stretched on mountaineering poles. There is a rope with colorful Tibetan prayer flags in the snow between the stakes.
