November 1984. The Kamiński family’s apartment in Warsaw’s Przyczółek Grochowski housing estate. Taking care of the daughter of Urszula and Andrzej, Katarzyna, and her first bath. The Kamiński couple is accompanied by their parents, Kasia’s grandparents. The baby returned home from the hospital shortly after the birth. The umbilical cord has not dried and fallen off yet. The mother breastfeeds the baby, gently cleans her auricles with a cotton bud and wipes the body with wet cotton swabs. Then, together with the grandmother, she gently washes the baby in the bathtub.
