December 1983, Przyczółek Grochowski housing estate in Warsaw. Preparations for the departure for the civil wedding ceremony of Andrzej Kamiński’s brother-in-law, Marek, and his future wife, Bożena. The future spouses go to the Civil Registry Office located at ul. Ludwika Mycielskiego (currently the Tax Office is located there) in a Łada car, borrowed for this occasion from their cousin. The car has some flowers attached to the bonnet and ornaments on the windshield. It slowly moves through the streets covered with muddy snow towards the Civil Registry Office (USC). The bride, groom and guests wait for the ceremony to begin. Then they enter the wedding hall, where the bride and groom sit on chairs opposite the official and repeat the words of the marriage vow after him. (MB)
