description

Antoni Matuszny, who came from the Beskid village of Laliki, was interested in photography since he was a child. As he recalls, he wanted to save the life of his family and the countryside in the 1970s from oblivion. At the age of thirteen, he bought the first camera, and when he was 24 – the camera of the Soviet Quarz 5.

A film made in Laliki in the hamlet of Kubaszczyki in the spring of 1979. Shots of spring flowers and geese in the yard. Antoni’s daughters-in-law, Barbara, Teresa and Bernadka, spend time outdoors. The adults do various cleaning jobs around the house. Ludwik (Antoni’s father) talks to his neighbor, Wojciech Białożyt. A Fiat 125p and an SHL 175 motorbike, both belonging to Antoni, can also be seen parked in the yard. Shots of cattle grazing in the pasture. Antoni is looking through binoculars, the girls are picking milkweed and making garlands out of it.
