description

The author of the film is Jerzy Łapkiewicz, who filmed the events of his family’s life with a Quarz Zoom camera and Super 8 tape, borrowed from a colleague, who bought it in the Foto-Optyka shop.

Winter, Toruń. The film was made in the apartment of the Łapkiewicz family in the Rubinkowo housing estate. The interior of the apartment. Jerzy’s daughter, Ola, sits on the carpet among the toys scattered around her. At the table, where the radio stands, there is Ania, the older daughter of Jerzy, with her friend, Małgosia, (a daughter of the neighbours from above) and her brother, Marcin. Ola crawls on the carpet, clumsily gets up, leaning against the chair. The children, holding hands, enter the room, followed by crawling Ola. Jerzy’s wife, Maria, sits with her daughter, Ania, in a Kon-Tiki armchair, covered with a bedspread. Its pattern imitates cow patches. Ania kisses her mother on the cheek and comes off the couch. In the next shot, her dad, Jerzy, sits in the armchair with the girl and the scene is filmed by Maria.
