description |
The author of the film is Andrzej Jastrzębski – a jazz tuba player, photography and old car enthusiast – who immortalized family memories using a Zenit camera and an 8 mm camera. The film was recorded during the communion of daughter, Diana, in the church at 9 Świętego Bonifacego Street in Warsaw in 1989. Girls in First Communion clothes together with their parents are waiting in front of the church for the beginning of the ceremony. Shots from inside the church; children take their first holy communion one by one. Diana in front of the church poses for the camera with her godfather and family friend Jan Benesz and his son, later she talks to her godmother, mother’s sister Maria. Family and friends go by a big bus to the First Communion party at the house of the Benesz family in Anin near Warsaw; an amused dog jumps on Diana dressed in a communion clothes. (AT)
