description

The author of the film is Marcin Kęszycki, who as a teenager documented family and social life with a Newa 2 camera.

A film made during an Easter trip to Łagów. Shots of the castle of the Knights of St John of Jerusalem and the snow-covered surroundings. Maria, Marcin’s mother, is sitting on a bench and exposing her face to the sun. Marcin and his brother Wojtek are walking together with their dad, Wojciech Kęszycki. The man is looking at the high mast of the Radio and Television Broadcasting Centre (RTCN) in Jemiołów, visible on the horizon. During the trip, the Kęszycki family spent most of their free time walking and playing cards. Shots of worshippers leaving the church. Family members are playing in the snow. Wojciech and his son are cleaning snow off the Volksvagen Beetle. As the filmmaker recalls, this was the first family outing in their own car, which, like the cars of all the Kęszycki friends, had a name – it was called Glacis. There are shots of the streets, the people of Łagów during the spring melt and the castle towering over the town. Maria is applauding and waving to the camera.
