Andrzej Wysokiński was born on July 11, 1934 in Marki, near Warsaw. After graduating from the Academy of Physical Education, he worked as a fencing and skiing coach, as well as a PE teacher at a school in Radziechowy. Andrzej’s first films were records of everyday life in Łódź with his wife Elżbieta and son Marek. As a sports enthusiast, he also recorded skiing competitions, tennis court games or foreign trips to the mountains. After separating from Elżbieta, he settled in the Beskid region of Radziechowy with his partner Jadwiga and daughter Jolanta. Andrzej recorded family films first with an 8mm tape camera, but in later years, as technology developed, he changed equipment and used VHS and digital cameras.

Part 1

Film made in Łódź’s Piotrkowska Street apartment probably during the Christmas holidays. Shots of a table set with platters and bottles of alcohol. A dressed Christmas tree can be seen in the background. More guests enter the room and present their outfits to the assembled guests. A woman treats the guests with chocolates. A man dressed as Santa Claus plays with a hand puppet with a several-year-old boy. Guests dance the twist, among them can be seen Andrzej’s parents Maria and Kazimierz – Elżbieta, Andrzej and their friend Ryszard Raczek.

Part 2

A mosaic of genre scenes – a young woman and a man hang out in the park, Elżbieta with a bouquet of flowers in her hand walks through a meadow, she busies herself in the kitchen and eats soup, several-year-old children look at the camera with curiosity, an older woman carries a small child in her arms.
