description	Eugeniusz Małanicz was born in 1904 in Zelczyn. He was an electrical engineer by education, and a passionate moviegoer and collector of films and film cameras. In 1925, he founded a travelling cinema “Oaza”, touring the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. Although the business went bankrupt after a year, the passion for cinematography remained with Eugeniusz until his death. In December 1939, he moved with his family to Warsaw and settled in Saska Kępa. An important place in his life was Giby – a village in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, to which he traveled from the 40s. There he rested, kayaked and took pictures. Eugeniusz died in Giby in 1982, and the hood of his beloved car (Hansa) rested on his tombstone. An account of the engagement of Eugeniusz Małanicz’s granddaughter, Katarzyna, and Tomasz Przybylski, filmed between 1981 and 1982. Part 1 Short shots from the window of an apartment at 8 Elsterska Street in Warsaw’s Saska Kępa. Katarzyna sits in the car and says something to Tomasz, who films her. The couple spends time in the apartment. Katarzyna reads a book, lying on the bed. Tomasz changes the film in the camera, also rests on the bed and takes pictures of Kasia. The couple is accompanied by their dachshund, Pikulina. Part 2 Katarzyna, Tomasz and Pikulina go to Popowo. Tomasz reluctantly gets out of bed. On the way to Popowo, Katarzyna lets the dachshund go for a walk. Pikulina runs behind a white Fiat 125p. In Popowo, Kasia and Tomasz are awaited by the man’s mother, (Alina Przybylska) and Stanisław Wójcicki with his grandson. The family spends time on the plot and in front of the summer cottage. Part 3 During the holidays, Tomek with Kasia and Pikulina visit Giby – Eugeniusz’s beloved place, where the man built a wooden house by himself. The couple walks around the area and relaxes at Lake Pomorze. Tomek takes pictures of Kasia, who films him. (AT)
