Janusz Dybkowski (1954–2003) was a photographer and journalist who collaborated with numerous editorial offices, including “Tygodnik Piotrkowski” and “Dziennik Łódzki”. In Piotrków, he documented significant local events and the daily life of the city. His film collection consists of both footage of family life and documentary materials.

A street march, participants are carrying placards with various slogans. On a decorative display structure, there is a drawing of the city and a sign reading: ’27.V. – 4.VI. Dni Piotrkowa’ (‘Piotrków Days’). A brass band of miners in ceremonial uniforms performs. At the crowded stadium, a historical reenactment takes place—a ceremonial handover of the city keys to a young person dressed in period costume. The event features performances by a miners’ band and folk ensembles. A historical parade makes its way through the streets. A shot of the city market square filled with people, stalls, and café umbrellas. People hurry through the streets. There are also cyclists and mothers with children in strollers. Another shot of the stadium: folk groups performing, with a banner reading ‘Trybuna Ludu’ in the background. It starts to rain. Spectators at the stadium open their umbrellas.
