A group of several dozen people is taking a train trip. At Wernigerode-Hasserode station, a woman is talking to the train driver. A shot of the landscape from the train window. The excursion participants get off and continue on foot into the mountains through the forest, stopping several times to listen to the guide. Scenes from everyday life in a small town. Two women are strolling, a freight train passes by, followed by a passenger train. A man on a ladder is painting a house facade. A shot of a non-functioning fountain, with children climbing on it. A newlywed couple and wedding guests are coming out of the town hall. The bride, wearing a veil and a white dress, and the groom, dressed in a suit, pose for photos. A shot from the window of a bus driving through the forest. The group gets off and continues on foot through the forest toward the mountain peak. At the summit, people are taking photos of the landscape, while others are posing against the mountain backdrop or walking around and admiring the views. Then, the group returns to the town and rests in front of a guesthouse. They continue by bus to a water dam. There, they stop at a viewpoint, admiring the river and the landscape. They visit a castle on a hill and observe a flock of sheep grazing on a mountain meadow.
