description

Janusz Dybkowski (1954–2003) was a photographer and journalist who collaborated with numerous editorial offices, including “Tygodnik Piotrkowski” and “Dziennik Łódzki”. In Piotrków, he documented significant local events and the daily life of the city. His film collection consists of both footage of family life and documentary materials.
A landscape shot shows a river, with the outlines of a small town on the opposite bank, shrouded in a light mist. The camera zooms in on a meadow and an old, a bit neglected orchard. Church towers and turrets rise above the treetops. A close-up reveals somewhat run-down buildings of a former abbey or monastery. The camera captures the building housing the PTTK museum, followed by close-ups of another ruined structure, remaining sections of a wall, and old-growth trees.
