description

This collection of films was recorded by a married couple, Paweł and Joanna Morzyszek. Amateur films shot on 8 mm and Super 8 film reels document family life: celebrations, holidays, vacations, and travels. The archive covers materials from a 20-year period, from 1968 to 1988, which allow us to follow the growing up of Paweł and Joanna’s children – Ewa and Tomek – and their granddaughters – Agata and Anna.
Film made in 1973.

Part 1
The Morzyszek family, along with their friends, the Zacierek family, spend vacation in Dziwnów. Tusnelda (Tusia) and Edmund (Mundek) were respected doctors from Piotrków and close friends of Joanna and Paweł. Both families swim in the sea and spend time on the beach.

Part 2
The Morzyszek and Zacierek families spend Easter together in Zakopane. Paweł, Joanna, and Mrs. Tusia (Tusnelda Zacierek) walk in the mountains. Tadek, Jasiek (Mrs. Tusia’s sons), Joanna, Mrs. Tusia, Tomek, Ewa, and the daughter of the Zacierek family pose for the camera on the balcony of their rented lodgings.

Part 3
Footage from the May Day parade in Piotrków Trybunalski. Joanna marches among former prisoners and members of ZBoWiD, while Paweł joins other directors and employees of the KARA Steelworks. Tomek, as one of the top students, takes part in the flag-bearing delegation of the Juliusz Słowacki High School No. III. After the celebrations, Ewa and Joanna walk through the city and stop in Śródmiejski Park, commonly referred to by locals as “Krzywda.”
