description

This collection of films was recorded by a married couple, Paweł and Joanna Morzyszek. Amateur films shot on 8 mm and Super 8 film reels document family life: celebrations, holidays, vacations, and travels. The archive covers materials from a 20-year period, from 1968 to 1988, which allow us to follow the growing up of Paweł and Joanna’s children – Ewa and Tomek – and their granddaughters – Agata and Anna.

The film is from May 1976.
Various shots from San Francisco in the United States. The camera captures views of Chinatown and the city streets and architecture. It observes street signs and outdoor ads as well as people sitting on grass in a park. One frame shows the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge, and another The Dewey Monument at Union Square. In Chinatown, the cameraman’s attention is drawn to neon signs (“Chop Suey”, “Shanghai Low”) and The Sing Fat Co. pagoda-style building.
