description |
Leszek Krzeszowiak was a skier (among others a Polish vice-champion in slalom in 1949 in Karpacz), ski coach, academic lecturer, judge, director of the Department of Judges and General Skiing in the Polish Ski Association. He was also passionate about filming sports and important events, not only family events. The pictures were shot with the Czechoslovak Admira 16 mm camera. The film was recorded on the last day of John Paul II’s first pilgrimage to Poland, June 10, 1979. Shots from the balcony on the first floor of the Krzeszowiak family’s apartment at ul. Królowej Jadwigi in Cracow. In the distance, we can see a characteristic altar and crowds of believers gathered in front of it in Cracow’s Błonia. (CN)
