After graduating from the Directing Department of the Institute of Cinematography in Moscow (WGIK), he worked as an assistant of Krzysztof Zanussi and Krzysztof Kieślowski. His films and radio programmes have been broadcast and awarded all over the world.

A recording of a fragment of the performance “Exodus” (a ritual poem by Leszek Aleksander Moczulski) at the student STU Theatre directed by Krzysztof Jasiński, staged in Łódź in 1974 as part of the XI Łódź Theatre Meetings. The performance, together with two other STU theatre plays – “Falling” (1970) and “Polish Dream Book” (1971) – is described as a legendary triptych of the history of avant-garde theatre, which was an important element of the young generation when it comes to the discussion about the contemporary world and the future of the country. The second part of the film is a recording of the performance “Szłość samojedna” by the student Theatre Pleonazmus from Cracow.
