description

Wojciech Wiktorowski was born in Warsaw in 1954 and has been interested in cinematography since his teenage years. Professionally, he worked, among other things, as a journalist at Polish Television and a contributor to the magazine Ekspres Reporterów, and was the author of many reports and documentaries devoted to protecting people from toxic factors in the environment and in social life. In addition to film, Wojciech’s great passion was crime novels. He realized his love for this genre as the author of the Ewa Calls 007 series: the books On the Edge of the Low Pressure Area (1985) and Milk Action (1986), as well as The Ghosts of Chernobyl (2011).

The author of some of the films is also Wojciech’s father, Roman Wiktorowski, who worked as a surgeon in Morocco since 1965.

Part 1

Teenage Wojciech’s film experiments – the boy records fragments of TV movies, the view from his window of neighbouring blocks of flats (probably on Brazylijska Street in Warsaw), pages of history books or a flying plane. Wojciech, playing the role of a spy, pretends to smoke a cigarette and drink vodka. The agent is suddenly attacked by a villain – played by a longtime friend from the backyard, Krzysztof Krauze. The boys stage the fight scene in the living room of an apartment on Brazylijska Street. Shots of the church, stills from the cruise and excerpts from the film on TV.

Part 2

The film was probably shot by Wojciech’s sister, Ewa, during a business stay in Washington. At the time, the woman worked at Pagart and often travelled abroad with artists from the Grand Theater – National Opera. Ewa walks around the city, looking at skyscrapers, the Capitol or the Tadeusz Kościuszko monument.

Part 3

A short excerpt recorded during a visit to Paris.

Part 4

A video made in Morocco. A group of children are playing in front of the hospital where Roman probably worked. A stray bitch is also seen in front of the building. Shots of exotic vegetation, the hospital building and cars parked in front of it.
